Emirates Aviation University celebrated its second graduating class this year, honouring more than 250 students. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, the graduation ceremony took place at the university’s new campus in Dubai Academic City.
The graduating class consisted of 68 students from the bachelor degree programmes, 184 from higher diplomas programmes, 39 Emirates Group employees and 19 graduates from the pilot training programme. Including this year’s number of students, the university has graduated more than 12,500 students since its inception in 1991.
“The growing aviation industry in the UAE and across the MENA region has created a whole spectrum of jobs that demand continuing education and professional qualifications. The success of our programmes reflects this demand, and also the calibre of our education,” said Dr. Ahmad Al Ali, Vice Chancellor of Emirates Aviation University.
“I would like to congratulate the graduates for this great achievement and wish them all the success in the exciting field of aviation,” he added.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Dr Abdulla Al Karam - Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of KHDA, Dr. Naji Al Mahdi – Chief of Qualifications and Awards, KHDA and a of number government representatives, family and friends.
Emirates Aviation University unveiled its new name in April 2014 at the Gulf Education & Training Exhibition (GETEX). Its enhanced academic status was approved by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in recognition of the college’s diverse programmes, and has since boosted the university’s profile on the international stage.
EAU remains committed to offering new and industry-relevant programmes. Some of the programmes currently offered by the University include: Master degrees in Aviation Security, Aviation Safety, Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development.
It also offers MBAs in Aviation Management; Bachelor degrees in Aerospace Technology, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Avionics Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management and Applied Business; Diplomas and Higher Diplomas in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Computing, Computing Software Development, Business Management and Tourism Management.
