The issues of the information reform were the focus of the meeting held
The issues of the information reform and the journalists' working conditions in the press institutions were the focus of the meeting held, on Friday in Tunis, by the members of the National Authority
for the Reform of Information and Communication and a delegation of General Union of Culture and Information stemming from the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT).
The two sides examined the issue of stumbling the reform, in particular, in the public sector and "the return on the scene of figures who had been responsible of the degradation of the situation of the information sector.
They also evoked the issue of the very low wage and the non implementation of the collective convention of the written press.
In another connection, the meeting helped establish an agreement to hold regular meetings between the two sides and propose the creation of a joint committee with the Tunisian National Journalists' Union (SNJT) which, in addition to its mission to promote the press institutions, will be entrusted with vitalising the editorial councils, and start a debate on the creation of a High Authority of audiovisual information.
