A paramilitary policeman has been arrested as prime suspect in the stabbing death of Exclusive newspaper journalist, Ibrahim Foday, investigators said Thursday.
Foday was stabbed five days
ago in the east of the capital while covering a riot involving two rural communities over a piece of land, witnesses said.
The president of the Sierra leone Association of Journalists, Umaru Fofanah reacting to Wednesday's arrest said, "we will not rest until the killers of Ibrahim are brought to justice."
"Journalists in Sierra leone must not continue being the endangered species" he added, describing the incident as "a lithmus test for the country's media and people."
