Are you a budding filmmaker attending a local University? Here’s your opportunity to shine! The 4th edition of Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival (SICFF) will take place from23rd – 28th October and will provide a unique chance for young filmmakers to put their skills to the test!
SCIFF is an initiative of FUNN, a Sharjah-based foundation that seeks to promote media arts and creative talent among youth in the UAE and is founded under the patronage of HH SheikhaJawaherbint Mohammad Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
In-line with the festival’s objectives is the new Video Coverage Contest that will be hosted during the Festival – groups of youth from local Universities (up to a maximum of 4 members per group from each institution) have been invited to document the Festival through their own video cameras. The students must start filming on the first day of the festival – October 23rd – and produce the final edited version by the morning of October 27th. Submissions should be forwarded to fatima.m@funn.ae through wetransfer.com.
Each participating student will be given a certificate and the overall winner will be rewarded with a trophyduring SICFF’s Awarding Ceremony to be held at JRCC on the evening of the28th of October. The competition hopes to foster local filmmakers and motivate them to produce innovative content for the children and youth of the UAE.
