Egypt’s Minister of Information Salah Abdel Maksoud
Egyptian’s celebrated Media Day in the capital city Cairo on Thursday.
The day immortalises a landmark event in the history of Arab media.
Egypt’s Minister of Information
, Salah Abdel Maksoud, addressed the crowds during the celebration, sstating that the event also marked the birth of Egyptian radio 79 years ago.
He said that this year’s commemoration will acknowledge the freedoms gained since the 2011 revolution. He expressed his gratitude to the martyrs of the Egyptian revolt whose actions have allowed media workers to enjoy more freedom in the industry.
Maksoud urged all the Egyptian people in the media to continuing doing their duties during the coming period to achieve the interests of the country. He added that all the workers must honour their commitments.
He expressed his confidence that the Egyptian media would overcome any obstacles presented to it, particularly during the current political climate.
