A UAE paper has said that it would seem to be a long shot to relate the filming of foreign movies in a country to an eventual increase in its own entertainment quotient. But, in reality, it is not a far-fetched concept.
"This inter-relation offers the scope to boost indigenous large-screen cinema or television content and in this regard, Abu Dhabi is displaying far-sightedness by determinedly attracting the best of Hollywood and Bollywood to its stunning locales," said Gulf News in its editorial on Sunday.
The two most prolific entertainment producers in the world are increasingly picking the U.A.E.'s capital as a location. Abu Dhabi s strategy of offering irresistible incentives in the form of discounts on flights and accommodation, access to state-of-the-art facilities, along with its unbeatably convenient geo-location, is enabling the best of international creative skills in movie-making to engage with it.
"This has the potential to galvanise local talent into upgrading its own content creation, an osmotic characteristic of all creative arts and Abu Dhabi is a great place, literally and figuratively, to make the most of this advantage," concluded the Dubai-based newspaper.
