The latest generation of the evergreen supercar is getting the Gran Turismo Sport treatment to up its comfort, power, performance and exclusivity.
Coming to showrooms in November, the 911 Carrera GTS can be specified as a hardtop coupé or convertible and with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
But whichever configuration of the 911 GTS is right for you, every model offers 430hp on tap, that's 30hp more than the 3.8-liter flat-six engine usually puts out and that translated into a faster 0-100km/h time and a higher top speed, too.
The coupe can hit 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds while the convertible needs 0.2 seconds more to hit the same speed. Porsche promises that all variations of the GTS will break the 300km/h (186mph) barrier and that the rear-wheel drive hardtop when specified with a seven-speed manual rather than paddle shift double-clutch automatic transmission is good for 306 km/h and beyond.
As well as greater straight-line speed, all GTS models get the Sport Chrono package (standard on the 911 Turbo) and the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system as standard, so a lower ride height and even better handling in the curves.
To subtly let other 911 drivers know that your car is slightly more special, the GTS has a specially designed front bumper, tinted headlamps, black 20-inch alloy wheels and black chrome-plated exhausts.
The 911 Carrera GTS will make its first public appearance at the LA Motor Show in November before hitting showrooms in Europe with a price tag of €144,329 for the rear-wheel-drive coupé, climbing to €167,931 for the four-wheel-drive convertible.
