Plaza Hotel celebrates Gatsby release

New Plaza suite channels twenties glitz and glamour In anticipation of Australian director Baz Luhrman’s 3D adaptation of The Great Gatsby, Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel put the finishing touches on a glitzy Jazz Age addition. From May 10, guests will be able to wine and dine à la Daisy Buchanan in a lavish suite eighteen floors above Fifth Avenue. Sleek fixtures and gilding conjure the lavish debauchery of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s most popular classic. Catherine Martin, the Oscar-winning production designer of Moulin Rouge headed up the revamp. The Fitzgerald suite adeptly emulates the roaring twenties with striking art-deco detailing and period furnishings by Restoration Hardware.
