Children perform at the Young Tourist festival
The Young Tourist festival, organised by Syria's tourism ministry, kicked off at Damascus Citadel, a large medieval fortified palace in Damascus, Syria, on Monday
.
The four-day festival includes fine art workshops, drama shows, puppet theatre and music concerts.
Children from Damascus, the countryside and Quneitra, are participating in the festival.
Syrian Tourism Minister, Hala al-Nasser stressed the importance of the festival, highlighting the aim of showcasing creativity of Syrian children.
Al-Nasser pointed out that festival looks to convey a message: "Life will continue and Syria will remain the cradle of innovation and inventors."
The festival is in cooperation with al-Baath Vanguards Organisation. Head of the group, Izzat Arabi Katibi, said that the festival reflects children's creativity and their ability to overcome the current crisis.
