Safaga is located on the coast of the Red Sea
Scandinavians are flocking into the Egyptian town of Safaga, on the coast of the Red Sea, for some sun therapy.
The small port, which consists of several bungalows
and rest houses, has seen a recent rise in tourists - a positive sign for Egypt which has suffered from a tourism decline.
Head of Foreign Relations Committee of the Egyptian Union for Tourist Chambers, Adel Abdel-Razek, stated that tourism rates have witnessed a notable decline after the January 25 Revolution, stressing the need to open new markets to support tourism in Egyptian cities.
The minister also affirmed that the country is attempting to improve relations with Scandinavia, following the rise of holidaymakers in Safaga.
