The much-awaited Downtown Dubai New Year's Eve Gala organised by Emaar Properties, the event has already made history by clinching the Guinness World Records title for the ‘Largest LED-Illuminated Façade' on Burj Khalifa.
A team from Guinness World Records adjudicated the preparations for the Downtown Dubai New Year's Eve Gala and awarded the honour for the impressive wrapping of the world's tallest building with LED panels, spanning a total area of 32,467 sq. metres.
This surpasses the existing record held by Mall Taman Anggrek in Indonesia, with the LED screen area around Burj Khalifa nearly 3.75 times larger.
The record-breaking LED display has an impressive 70,000 LED panels placed in position using over 100,000 brackets and linked seamlessly using 55,000 metres of cabling for the perfect visual display.
On New Year's Eve, the façade will display a spectacular multi-media display highlighting the rich heritage of Dubai, its visionary leadership and iconic accomplishments.
The LED illumination on the tower, laser beams that will light up the entire Downtown Dubai neighbourhood in spell-binding hues and The Dubai Fountain dancing to the rhythm of world music will set the stage for the magnificent fireworks atop Burj Khalifa. It will serve as the crescendo for the celebration to usher in 2015 in unmatched grandeur.
A record crowd is expected to attend this year's Downtown Dubai New Year's Eve Gala, the flagship celebration in Emaar's mega-development described as ‘The Centre of Now.' The event will be streamed live on www.youtube.com/DowntownDubai, with four different camera angles including an aerial view by drones being introduced this year, for the complete effect. Additionally, live feeds of the event will be telecast over major international channels.
