Money worries can cause anxiety attacks In a survey released today by the British Citizens Advice Bureau it was revealed that debt affects every aspect of people’s lives. Its impact on work, home and relationships is affecting the health of nearly three in four of those surveyed for the report.
Half of people in employment and struggling with debt said their work performance was suffering, and the same amount also said worry about debt was affecting their relationships. Of those whose health had suffered, over half had experienced a panic or anxiety attack while more than three-quarters said they were losing sleep. It has raised fears over a “debt time bomb” that could damage people’s mental health further if its effects aren’t addressed. The charity urged people with money worries to seek advice at a Citizens Advice Bureau rather than allow problems to mount.
