The Duchess of Cambridge wore a dress similar to one Diana wore in 1981
Kate wore strapless black dress to “The Sun's Military Awards”. But one of the most striking things about her outfit was its resemblance to an outfit Princess Diana wore thirty years
ago. Diana wore the frock by Elizabeth and David Emmanuel, who designed her wedding dress, to her first public engagement in 1981 for a fundraiser at The Royal Opera House.
It sold at auction last year for about $250 thousand and features the same ruffled embellishment and sweetheart neckline, but is made of satin.
Kate exposed her shoulders for the first time in this dress from her favorite Alexander McQueen.
