Syrian actress Murad starred in The Party
Syrian actress Jumana Murad revealed to Arabstoday that she is always keen for her movies to pose new challenges to her abilities as an actress.
Her latest hit The Party, which is currently showing in cinemas, addressed
the occurrence of kidnapping in Egypt.
Joumana told Arabstoday that she plays the role of an aristocratic girl called Nancy, “I think the character will be a surprise for her viewers, will launch my career.” She stars alongside Ahmed Ezz, Mohamed Ragab, Ruby, Ahmed Saadani, and Dina El-Sherbini.
Joumana rejected the idea that she was the “absolute star of a work of art,” stressing that she prefers “a good role amid a distinguished group of artists to being the sole star in a bad movie.”
Joumana said that she cannot wait to start work her new film, Ashraf the Allt, produced by Mohammed Subki. The movie is based around a man named Ashraf Allt, who uses switchblades and weapons in self-defense. She noted that the film is still being worked-out and negotiations are ongoing with artists such as Amr Saad and Khaled Saleh.
She expressed her happiness that her movie Moon palm has started to be displayed on satellite channels because “it increases the number of viewers and contributes to a films success.” The film starred Wafa Amer, Joumana Mourad, Ghada Abdel Razek, Tariq Imad, Shaaban Hussein, Ramiz Amir, Khaled Saleh, Yasser al-Masri, and Sabri Fawaz. It is written by Nasser Abdul Rahman and directed by Khaled Youssef.
Joumana refused to reveal any details about her new drama series The Black Box, saying “You’ll have to wait and see how it all pans out.”
