Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, yesterday opened the Family Village headquarters at Al Warqa Area, Dubai.
The Family Village is a charity project that will ensure social, psychological, and economic stability for orphans in the society. Sheikh Mohammed unveiled the memorial plaque in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs and also Chairman of the UAE initiative's Higher Committee, Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai, and chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Family Village.
Sheikh Mohammed toured the building housing the children kindergarten and a number of service, entertainment and health facilities. He also watched a documentary narrating the living condition of the children since it accommodates about 100 orphan children.
Sheikh Mohammed also met with a number of children in one of the Family Village's villas and exchanged parental talk with them, besides acquainting himself about their daily living and health conditions. Sheikh Mohammed expressed his happiness at the completion of this charitable edifice, saying, "All orphan children are our sons and daughters, and caring for them is part of our religious, moral and governmental duties." He also signed on a chart affixed in administration building hall on which was inscribed a quote of his He added, "We are happy to see the children living in a family environment and receiving all kinds of care and interest from alternative mothers and aunts." He also praised Hussain Ahmad Al Qamzi, Chairman of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF).
Sheikh Mohammed hailed the efforts of members of the Board of Directors.
