Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, affirmed that Russia is considered a favorite investment destination to the U.A.E.. In his remarks at the Russia-GCC Business Forum in the U.A.E., which concluded yesterday in Dubai, he
said that the strong economic infrastructure and the proper business environment has made our country an ideal partner for the Russian business interest.
On his part, Dr Igor Egorov, Chairman of the Russian Business Council, said that the Council plays an important part in the Russian-Emirati economic growth and towards achieving its mission in order to hold business meetings with foreign partners.
He also underscored that the Council would continue discharging its missions so as to enhance the Russian-UAE ties and make the two countries' economies more open to one another.
The two-day event focused on promoting trade relations between Russia and the GCC countries, and providing the opportunity for those interested in mutual investments, through holding an exhibition for companies participating in the forum in conjunction with workshops addressing Russia - GCC cooperation in implementing infrastructure projects, developing cooperation in gas and oil services, the petrochemical industry, nuclear plants and alternative energy resources, as well as nanotechnology, communications and telecommunications.
The forum also included a workshop on the tourism sector and airlines in both Russia and GCC countries, and the possibility of mutual promotion for this sector, in addition to supporting the existing experience of cooperation in the field of diamond and gemstones industry. Other sections of the forum were discussions on trade and economic legislation in the UAE, as well as prospects for cooperation in food-manufacturing and agriculture.
The Russia-GCC Business Forum provided a meeting platform for business leaders, companies and governmental officials from across Russia and the region, in order to benefit from the exchange of experience and expertise, and enable the establishment of joint investment in oil, gas, real estate, ports and other sectors.
