Iraq’s Ambassador to Cairo Habib Al Sadr denied what was published over the suspension of the agreement to suspend Egypt with oil at a rate of one million barrel per month, adding that the contract signed between the two countries is still in effect.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that his country is prepared to support Egypt during the current critical period in the different fields, stressing their keenness to keep the strong relations between the two countries during the coming period.
On the other hand, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum Tarik Al Mola said that the Egyptian government resumes negotiations with its Iraqi counterpart to import two million barrels of oil per month, stressing that the agreement will be concluded in the near future.
The statement of the Egyptian official came to refute what was published in an Egyptian newspaper over the country’s intention to undermine the agreement with Iraq in the light of the resumption of oil supplies coming from Saudi Arabia’s Aramco Company.
The Egyptian minister revealed that there is no obstacle to impede the agreement between Egypt and Iraq to receive two million barrels of oil per month
