The first shipment of live American cattle has arrived in Sudan Port, on Monday, within the national project of animal production. The 1,500 heads of cattle were imported to boost the dairy industry in Sudan.
The national project of animal production manager Gamal Ahmed discussed the livestock production in Sudan and exerted efforts to develop this sector, through importing high-quality strains to achieve food security and self-sufficiency in the country. He explained that the project includes importing 25,000 heads of cattle and the establishment of five dairy farms in a number of states in Sudan. He pointed out that the arrive of the first shipment of cows is considered a breakthrough after the lifting of economic sanctions on Sudan.
