Security officials are taking necessary measures to protect banks
Al-Qaeda could be preparing to target banks and exchange companies, Yemeni security forces revealed. Yemen’s Interior Ministry media centre said that al-Qaeda plans to target financial institutions in order to raise funds for its
terrorist activities.
An official source told Arabstoday that the security authorities had taken the necessary measures to protect banks nationwide, while also taking steps to thwart future attacks.
A number of Yemeni banks have witnessed armed robberies in the last two years, especially in southern provinces where al-Qaeda elements actively operate.
