A US archeological team from the Institute of Chicago arrived in Kurdistan to conduct a research on the history and civilisation of the people of Kurdistan, especially after the recent discoveries in Jarmo.
The US team visited Sulaymaniyah Museum and explained to the museum director the goals of their visits to Kurdistan, which focused on archaeological and civilisation sites in the region, and the village of Jarmo in particular. Jarmo is the oldest residential complex in Kurdistan. It was identified for the first time between (1940- 1960) by the archaeological team of the American Institute of Chicago.
The objective of the team’s visit to Kurdistan is to learn about the historical and archaeological areas, and to sign an agreement with Kurdistan government, to bring more archaeological teams to the region, and to conduct scientific research after identifying Kurdish civilisation in Jarmo.
