Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah tonight met with the members of the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences (SIFHAMS).
During the meeting, Sheikh Sultan emphasised that the Foundation plays an important role in reviving the legacy of Arab and Muslim scientists through translating and publishing their works at the national, regional and international levels, and preparing and training researchers in the various domains of Arab and Islamic history.
Sheikh Sultan urged the Foundation to draw up its plans, strategies, international network, tools and activities.
He also called upon the council of the Foundation to build its own library fro works on Arab and Islamic history.
He also noted the importance of building specialised museums and exhibitions to promote the heritage of Arabs and Muslims.
Sheikh Sultan granted 210 manuscripts of his own collection to the Foundation to help researchers and scholars conduct relevant researches.
