Morocco will be the country of honor at the 37th Paris Book Fair, to be held March 24–27 at Porte de Versailles.
For the first time since its inception, the Paris Book Fair will highlight the culture and literature of an Arab country. This event, titled “le Maroc à livre ouvert,” aims to promote Moroccan culture in all its forms.
The purpose of this program is to highlight the latest Moroccan literary and intellectual productions — particularly those covering social and cultural issues.
The event will provide Moroccan francophone and Arabic authors with the opportunity to share their thoughts concerning literary issues and to reinforce their cultural backgrounds.
Several Moroccan writers, academics, essayists and novelists will take part in this event. The Moroccan pavilion has been conceived as a large library containing an amphitheater, meeting rooms and projection spaces.
Other activities will be scheduled outside the book fair, including writing workshops and meetings with Moroccan and French publishers and cinematographers.
Moroccan authors will start touring through a dozen French cities in early March to meet the French public.
