The Moroccan Ministry of Culture signed memorandum of understanding concerning the establishment of Central Africa Publishers Association, Saturday, in Casablanca, in the presence of 22 publishers who were invited by the Ministry to the 23rd session of the International Book Fair.
This memorandum aims to unify national efforts at the level of publishing, enhancing the sector's professionalism and ensuring the book circulation , in the framework of the Economic Community of Central Africa, which attended as a guest of honor for this session, which is composed from Gabon, Cameroon, Chad, Rwanda, Angola, Congo, Burundi, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, Sao Tome, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Principe.
The initiative came after many meetings in the Ministry of Culture with the Central African publishers and representatives of publishing houses in Morocco, where the founding members allocated a temporary office, pending submission of the draft basic law and rules of procedure of the Association for authentication, during the International Book Fair and Arts, in Gabon, in April.
A statement of the Moroccan Ministry of Culture, said that the choice of the International Book Fair in Casablanca to announce the founding of Central Africa Publishers Association, is an expression of the vital role of the Kingdom of Morocco in the consolidation of the pillars of cooperation and integration in Africa.
