In the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and Patron of the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA), the 3rd Arab Publishers Conference (APAC 2015), hosted by Sharjah next November, organised a reception at the Sharjah Book Authority's (SBA) stand participating in Frankfurt International Book Fair.
The event aimed to familiarise the publishers and participants in the Frankfurt Book Fair with APAC 2015 and its importance and invite them to participate in it.
The reception was attended by Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of SBA, Richard Charkin, President of the International Publishers Association (IPA), Ali Al Shaali, Vice President of Emirates Publishers Association (EPA), Rashid Al Kous, General Manager of Knowledge without Borders (KWB) and Marwa Al Aqroubi, President of the Executive Board of the UAE Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY), as well as a large number of prominent publishers and key industry leaders.
The publishers and participants in the reception were introduced to the main outlines about the 3rd Arab Publishers Conference and its goals by providing a platform for publishing professionals and experts from all over the world to discuss ways to overcome the challenges faced by the publishing industry and share knowledge and expertise in developing this industry and maintain its development and growth to be able to benefit from in the current developments in the digital age.
The 3rd Arab Publishers Conference, organised by the Arab Publishers Association (APA) and Emirates Publishers Association (EPA), will take place at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre on November 2nd and 3rd under the theme, "Publishing Industry: Prospects and Challenges in the Digital Age", with the participation of professionals, experts, academics and stakeholders involved in the publishing industry from around the world.
The two-day conference will focus on eight main areas, and will be attended by a number of organisations involved in the publishing and book industry, as well as government and private organisations interested in the publishing sector. More than 100 publishers from all over the world and university students will also be present at the conference.
