Tiger Woods talks with Manager Mark Steinberg (R) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
Tiger Woods' agent Mark Steinberg is leaving the sports management firm IMG after the New York-based firm decided not to renew his contract.
"He is no longer with IMG,"
said IMG spokesman Jim Gallagher.
Woods could either stay with IMG as it restructures its golf division or decide to move with Steinberg.
Woods has been represented by IMG since he professional in August of 1996, and three years after that Steinberg became his agent.
At a news conference near Philadelphia earlier Tuesday to promote the At&T National tournament, Woods said he was loyal to both Steinberg and IMG.
"I'm committed to both, with IMG, and Mark's my agent," Woods said. "It's been a great relationship.
"I had a chance to go through a lot of ... basically my entire professional career and learn a lot about the business."
Steinberg's contract with IMG was set to expire in June so he was trying to hammer out a new deal when talks between the two broke down.
