Iraqi fighter jets launched raids against ISIS stronghold in Mousl’s right bank in cooperation with the International Coalition, as the raids led to the killing of a number of the group’s leaders on late Wednesday. Sources revealed that the raids have been launched upon information from the military intelligence, saying it killed a number of group’s leaders.
According to a statement, the International Coalition attacked a car carrying two extremist leaders, including Abu Ahmed and Abu Maha at Aserjkhanh district. The statement coincided with what was announced by Kurdistan’s Security Council over the killing of Abu Ahmed with another leading member of the extremist group in an air raid targeting them in the right bank of Mousl.
Baghdad’s Operation leadership announced that 25 civilians have been killed and injured during the bombing witnessed at Al Sadr city, on the eastern side of Baghdad. Spokesperson of Baghdad’s Operation Saad Moen said that the explosion’s victims increased to five dead and 20 injured.
On the other hand, member of Kurdistan’s parliament Xuan Qladzia said, in a press statement, that he visited Nolgkh village, Dukan district days ago, as he found a number of unexploded bombs near the village’s school, saying that these bombs pose serious threat against the village’s residents.
He added that he contacted with international expert Bob Wahu, who serves as MAG director, to organize a visit to the district, saying that the expert warned that the bombs are chemical, promising to exert his efforts to defuse them.
UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Iraq Lise Grande said, in a statement, that the international organization suspended its humanitarian aids in the country due to the security fears in the Eastern side of Mousl, restored recently from ISIS grip, while she promised to resume their activities in the near future.
Upon the recent reports, she said, the international organization decided to suspend its humanitarian activities in the eastern side of the city to pave the way for assessing the security situation. She expected that they will return to work as soon as possible.
In the same context, a suicide bomber carried out a terrorist operation at a restaurant in the Mousl’s liberated eastern side, as it led to the killing of 14 persons and injury of 39. The attack is the second of its kind since the beginning of military operation to liberate the city from the grip of the extremist group four months ago.
The terrorist attack led to a state of concern among the residents and the experts, as it raised questions over the security plans to confront the potential attack form the militants loyal to the extremist group after the liberation of the areas.
