Official sources revealed warnings that there are serious threats targeting Prime Minister Yusuf al-Shahid, National Guard commander Lotfi Braham and businessman Kamal Abdul Latif. According to the same warnings, these threats appear to be supported by outside parties that have not been identified and are unlikely to be Libyan.
These threats are related to a series of arrests recently launched by the Tunisian government, particularly those related to the national security of the Tunisian state. According to the available information, the authorities dealt with these threats very seriously by enhancing the protection of the targeted persons in the first stage and intensifying the intelligence work to uncover the parties involved in preparing to target the mentioned figures.
Al-Shahid stressed that law will be applied to everyone to eliminate corruption, bribery and nepotism and to reform the administration, indicating that his government will continue to work to meet the challenges of terrorism and development to face unemployment and improve the purchasing power of citizens.
The men and business assistants arrested are likely to be behind the threats. According to our own sources in Ministry of the Interior, security measures have been taken to protect the threatened persons. It is noteworthy that Tunisian PM faces several challenges due to his recent war on corruption and because of his new cabinet reshuffle that will not satisfy all political parties.
