Iran, Russia and Turkey managed to reach compromises over their differences in the Syrian crisis during their meeting in Kazakhstan’s capital of Astana, said Russia’s envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev.
He added, "Preparations are going rather intensively. Today we managed to hold consultations with the Iranian and Turkish sides, to have discussions in trilateral format and bring closer our positions on most of the issues on agenda,"
Hosted by the Kazakh government and overseen by Russia, Iran and Turkey, the talks hope to see the Syrian government and the armed opposition groups find a way out of the crisis that has plagued the Arab country for six years.
