International Quartet Committee, which includes Saudi Arabia, UAE , America and Britain, held a meeting, on a sideline of 20 Summit in Germany, to discuss the developments in Yemen.
The meeting attended by the American's new foreign minister, Rex Tarlsson, Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sultanate of Oman, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, and the UN envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
This is the first meeting of the Quartet committee in the current year, where it held a number of meetings last year, in which the last one was in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in December.
Oman is moving in remarkable steps to resolve the conflict in Yemen, where Oman maintains good relations with the Yemeni and regional parties, what giving it a pivotal role in the Yemeni crisis.
Iranian President Hassan Rowhani, visited Oman, and discussed with Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Said, the Yemeni and Syrian file. Observers believe that the visit is a start of the Iranian-Gulf dialogue, in which the two parties need for, in light of the volatile situation in the region, amid expectations that constitute the beginning of a breakthrough in the relations between the two sides.
Rowhani also will meet with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to discuss Tehran's role in resolving the crises in Yemen and Syria.
The Secretary-General of UN, Antonio Guterres, arrived to Oman, a few days ago, and said that his first visit to the region is for discussing the crisis with the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, and ways to solve them, pointing out that Oman is a member of the UN member states, and its people possess the leadership in bringing peace to the region.
