The release of Lebanese journalist abducted in Aleppo will be delayed for security reasons.
Sources said the abductors already decided to set Fedaa Itani free but his release will be delayed due to safety issues.
The abductors are facing difficulties securing entry to the borders between Syria and Turkey, where Itani is supposed to be received by Lebanese officials.
Meanwhile, fighting continues in Syria's northern regions between rebel groups and army forces.
Government authorities assigned to follow up Itani's case announced on Monday that the negotiations were positive concerning the nine detained Lebanese pilgrims who were abducted by the same group in Syria a few months ago.
Lebanese Labour Minister Salim Jreissati said Itani's abduction is related to the topic he was covering.
"We urge Itani's family to refrain from speaking to the media, as the issue is now in the hands of authorities concerned,” he said.
After freeing Itani, the Labour Minister said that they will continue with negotiations to free the nine pilgrims, whose release date has not been set yet.
11 Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped by rebels in the northern province of Aleppo on May 22 as they were returning home from a pilgrimage in Iran.
One pilgrims was released in August in what his captors said was a "goodwill" gesture and another was released in September.
