Rally for Jordanian journalists

A number of Jordanian journalists called for a rally in solidarity with their Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communication, and government spokesman, Rakan Majali. This is highly unusual
as protest usually oppose marchers to government figures .
The solidarity protest starts in front of the Syndicate offices in Tela Al Ali, Amman, at 1 pm on Thursday.
Majali, who calls for the freedom of media and journalism, was unjustifiably attacked by a number of MPs, following his statements concerning the early parliamentary elections.
In addition, some MPs “personalized” matters in their relations with Majali, after he criticized a few Senate members who attacked electronic media, in a meeting attended by the Jordanian king a few days ago.
