The Islamic State (ISIS) elements forced many young people to join its ranks in the right coast of the city of Mosul, while the Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of warehouses containing explosive materials and a workshop for the manufacture of missiles located in the western district of Anbar. A security expert asserted that the leader of ISIS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was injured in an air strike targeted a meeting of the organization in Anbar.
The security expert Fadel Abu Rghef said that al-Baghdadi and other senior members of the terror group were injured two days ago in an airstrike in Iraq. They were reportedly transferred to Syria for treatment.
The Iraqi air force reportedly carried out the airstrike that injured Baghdadi after receiving information from the Iraqi Falcon Intelligence Cell of his whereabouts.
The security source also said Baghdadi had been living in an underground bunker and was targeted while meeting with the jihadi group’s leadership.
Iraqi Defense Minister Erfan Mahmoud Hayali stressed the need to provide facilities for the citizens, and also to deal with them professionally for building strong relationship between them and the security forces, in the face of extremism." This came during his visit to Baghdad Operations Command.
A local source from within the city of Mosul said in a press statement, that the extremist ISIS group launched a campaign on Sunday, to force young people to join their ranks under the threat of arms. The source added that ISIS forced hundreds of young people, whose age ranges from 20 to 30 years, and drove them to an unknown place. He explained that the process of recruiting came because of the lack of elements, particularly after besieging the right coast by military units.
