Leadership of “We Are Coming Nineveh” operation revealed Friday that it currently controls Mousl’s left bank liberated recently from ISIS, stressing that it prepared for the coming battle to liberate the right bank of the city during the coming days and other areas of Nineveh.
The operation’s leader Abdel Amir Rashid Yar-Allah said, in a statement, “After the major victory achieved to liberate Mousl’s left bank, Iraq’s anti-terrorism forces, Iraqi army, Federal Police and Nineveh police bear the responsibility to protect the liberated areas.” He demanded the Iraqi citizens to cooperate with the forces to keep stability in their areas.
In the same context, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi announced on January 24 the full liberation of Mousl’s left bank, signaling that his government signed 27 memorandums to rebuild the liberated areas of the city.
The Iraqi security forces found a workshop, related to ISIS, to manufacture phantom wheels in Nineveh’s Araby district, according to a statement from Iraq’s Ministry of Defense, adding that the extremist group used these wheels to camouflage the reconnaissance aircraft.
On the other hand, special operations forces conducted a military parade on Friday for the first time in Mousl’s first bank. The Iraqi forces raised the Iraqi flag near Mousl University, as the Iraqi residents expressed their pleasure for liberating the city from the extremist militias.
