Tunisian Interior Ministry revealed that it received information over the existence of an extremist element in Manuba, as he was browsing internet pages related to ISIS inside a public shop in the city.
According to the statement, the Tunisian security forces raided the shop and arrested the extremist. They also confiscated a number of computers in the shop. The security authorities inspected the social media accounts of the defendant to monitor his relation with pages with Salafist nature.
The defendant has been referred to the Tunisian prosecution which ordered his imprisonment pending investigation in accusation of affiliating to a terrorist group.
In the same context, inspection and investigation unit, related to the National Guard, arrested a Salafist element at Tabaria in accusation of affiliating to a terrorist group operating outside the country.
The Tunisian forces also arrested another extremist suspected of joining a terrorist group, as he was praising ISIS and publishing their videos on his social media accounts.
The Tunisian security also confiscated rifles possessed by an extremist element without license who was referred to the prosecution for investigations
