Violent clashes occurred between armed forces loyal to the Yemeni government (Popular Resistance) and the Houthi militant group in south Taiz, leaving casualties on both sides. An Yemeni military source said that military forces loyal to President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi and the Popular Resistance succeeded in liberating a number of ares in west Taiz after violent clashes with the Houthi rebels.
The source added that the government armed forces launched an attack on the Houthis militants and forces loyal to former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in Maqbanah district, where violent battles lasted for several hours, leading to the liberation of some areas in the district.
