Protests continue against Military and Ganzouri
Cairo – Akram Ali

Protests continue against Military and Ganzouri Cairo – Akram Ali The ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) has delegated presidential powers to Prime Minister Kamal Al-Ganzouri , excluding authority over the armed forces and the judiciary. The amendment was issued on December 7, 2011, and signed by Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, to be published in the official newspaper.
In a press statement on Tuesday, Al-Ganzouri said the amendments would be to paragraph 10 of Article 56 and Article 57 of the Interim Constitution.
Al-Ganzouri's cabinet is slated to be sworn in on Wednesday in front of Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) head Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi.
Meanwhile, Ganzouri named General Mohamed Ibrahim, former head of the interior ministry's security directorate in Giza province, according to Al-Ahram newspaper.
The post is sensitive because police were accused of brutality during recent protests against the military. More than 40 people died in the trouble.
Furthermore, 11 parties, movements, and political coalitions announced the relocation of their sit-in from Tahrir square to the offices  of the Cabinet, located in Kasr El-Ainy Street, to prevent any attempts to turn against people’s will and causing the shed martyrs blood needlessly.
Parties and coalitions which signed the statement, copied to ‘Arabstoday’ attributed their stance to their belief in the importance of focusing on their main demand, which rejects the formation of the new government, calling for assigning the transitional government to a National Salvation government with full authorities, while guaranteeing the validity of these authorities, whether they be political or economical, in a constitutional declaration, in addition to the stepping down of SCAF away from the running the political arena.
The statement addressed the formal procedures, which avoid the implementation of prompt justice concerning the martyrs and the injured, and “defeating the corrupt who are still enjoying their everyday life as if nothing happened.” Instead, these procedures do not assure effective and prompt solutions to the security issue, a complete reconstruction of the Ministry of Interior, revival of economy and controlling the rise in prices, developing mechanisms to achieve social justice, but only pull the country backwards, wasting precious time due to slowness and the lack of political will to implement direct and prompt solutions by SCAF.
The statement commended all citizens who contributed by being in all Tahrir squares across the nation in proving that the revolutionary streets cannot be subjected to bargaining that would keep the situation as it is “it will not allow the continuity of killing and suppression which goes unpunished”.
The statement stressed that “The Egyptian people who have revolted will not keep silent if they find that their country does not change a year after the revolution, and January 25th is not far from now,” adding “Let’s stand together.. one hand building, and another correcting the path and getting the martyr’s rights back.”
It is worth mentioning that the statement was signed by: April 6 Youth Movement (Democratic Front), Positive Movement, National Front for Justice and Democracy, Hamdeen Sabahi’s campaign for presidency, Popular Committees in defense of the revolution, Awareness Movement Coalition, Coalition of Revolutionary Youth, Democratic Front Party, Egyptian Current, and Awareness Parties.
