Clinton with Moroccan president
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit Morocco on February 25 and 26, when she will meet Abdelilah Benkirane, the New Islamist Head of the Moroccan Government and representatives
from the Moroccan civil society.
Sources said that Clinton will oversee the opening of a new US embassy in Rabat.
Meanwhile, the Moroccan News Agency quoted State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland as stressing Clinton's visit to Morocco, which is considered a strong sign for a new phase of cooperation between Morocco and the United States of America.
The US Secretary of State's visit is part of a wider tour including Tunisia, Algeria and Britain, according to a statement by the US Department of State.
Clinton will participate in the first meeting of "Syria's Friends" on February 24 and 25 to try to end the killings of Syrians and to obtain democracy in Syria, Nuland added.
Moreover, Clinton will go to Algeria on February 25 to hold talks with President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on a number of issues, including the challenges currently faced by the region.
