Bouteflika stressed that relations between Algeria and Tunisia “were and will remain strong"
Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflikarenewed Algeria’s determination to pursue efforts to activate the Arab Maghreb Union, in order to have stability, cooperation, and prosperity reign the region.Talking
to Arab dignitaries for the celebration of the first anniversary of the Tunisian revolution, Bouteflika said “we salute the achieved democracy in our great Arab Maghreb… and we are certain that it would open ways to resume building the Maghreb Union,” adding that Algeria intends to pursue the efforts to activate it.
Bouteflika expressed his happiness in participating in the first anniversary of the Tunisian revolution, saying that it “wrote a new page in Tunisia’s glorified history"
He added that Algeria is optimistic with Tunisia’s victory and wishes it achieves all its “hopes and aspirations to build a future of prosperity.”
The Algerian President said that the reconstruction initiated by the Tunisian people is a “serious challenge” that would be inevitably won by people's hard work and their insistence on dialogue to achieve consensus.
Regarding the relations between Algeria and Tunisia, President Bouteflika stressed that they “were and will remain strong, intense, and perfect.”
