Leader of Iraq’s National Coalition Ammar Al Hakim blamed the absence of the Arab role in Iraq for the increasing of Iranian influence in the country. He praised the role of Egypt as a strategic ally for Iraq. Meanwhile, the Iraqi governmental troops resumed their advance in Mousl in the framework of the current military operation to liberate the city from the grip of the extremist group.
Federal Police Leader Shaker Jawdat revealed that his forces managed to restore control on a number of districts in the city, saying that they besieged and killed a number of extremist elements loyal to ISIS in the old district of the city. He added that they managed to kill over 13 extremists loyal to ISIS using grenades, saying that they provided aids to a family living in the city. “Federal Police and Rapid Response forces, stationed near the Old Bridge along the (Tigris) river and on the outskirts of Bab al-Bid, resumed their military operations today,” Jawdat reportedly stated.
Iraqi Federal Police announced Iraqi forces had retaken control of the Old Bridge, also called the Iron Bridge, on Wednesday, meaning government forces had retaken three of Mosul's five bridges on both sides of the Tigris river.
In the same context, security sources revealed that Security forces have imposed a complete curfew in al-Dulab neighborhood west of Ramadi after an attack waged by ISIS terror group, a security source said Saturday.
