Ukrainian Ambassador in Cairo Hennadii Latii said as many as 310,000 Ukrainian tourists visited Egypt in 2015 and expected tourism from his country to Egypt to record the same figure by the end of this year.
In statements to MENA, the ambassador said Ukrainian tourist agencies will operate from 30 to 60 charter flights weekly from Kiev to Sharm El Sheikh, noting that Ukrainian tourists consider Sharm El Sheikh as an important tourist destination.
Red Sea Governor General Ahmed Abdullah and Egyptian Ambassador to Ukraine Hossam el Din Mohammad Ali recently took part in a conference in Kiev to discuss how to activate Ukrainian tourism to Egypt, the ambassador said.
Although several countries have imposed a ban on travel to Egypt in the wake of the Russian jet crash in October 2015, Ukraine has not imposed any ban or restriction on travel to Egypt.
