A technical malfunction in the underground Metro’s overhead power lines in “New Marg” station had caused a partial suspension on the Metro Line 1, the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation announced.
The Metro movement between “Old Marg” and “New Marg” stations on Line 1 has been suspended temporarily over the malfunction, but Metro trains are operating normally from “Old Marg” all the way to “Helwan”, company spokesman Ahmed Abdel Hady said.
The company has coordinated with the Public Transport Authority to provide public buses to transport the commuters from “New Marg” to “Old Marg” stations until the problem is fixed, he said.
