The global conference of Star Alliance, hosted by Egypt for the first time, focuses on upgrading aviation safety systems and planes' manufacturing and maintenance, said the head of the Egyptian Pilots Association.
During the inauguration of the three-day event on Tuesday, Sherif Manawi said the conferences hosted by the Civil Aviation Ministry during the past period reflect stability in Egypt and have a positive impact on the tourism and aviation sectors.
Sharm el Sheikh and Hurgada airports recorded the highest tourist arrivals in the past period in comparison with the past years, he said.
Secretary General of the Egyptian Civilian Pilots Syndicate Ali Roushdy said the conference focuses on the latest developments in the civil aviation domain.
A former head of the alliance hailed the strenuous efforts exerted by Egyptian pilots, highlighting stability in Egypt.
Delegations from 28 airlines of the alliance's member states take part in the event.
