Russian flights to Egypt will resume soon, after reaching an agreement on the security level at airports, said Russian Trade Representative in Cairo Fedor Lukashi.
Following the agreement, charter flights for Russian tourists will be resumed to Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada, he added in statements to MENA.
During their recent visit to Egypt, Russian security experts inspected the second terminal at Cairo Airport, which will be the venue to receive Russian flights, he further said.
Talking about investments, Lukashi said that Russian investments in Egypt reached three billion dollars.
He also hailed the economic reforms adopted by Egypt with the aim of improving the investment climate and enhancing investments.
Flights to Egypt from Russia were suspended after a Russian plane crashed into the Sinai desert in October 2015, killing all 224 people on board.
