In the first quarter of 2017, Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) received a total of 1,671,784 passengers, registering an increase of 2 per cent in year-to-date passenger traffic (PAX) in comparison to Q1 2016.
Meanwhile, according to statistics released by Airport International Group, during Q1 2017, year-to-date aircraft movement (ACM) figures dropped by 2.9 per cent, while cargo handled decreased by 8.7 per cent in comparison to the first three months of last year.
In the month of March, QAIA welcomed 570,586 PAX, set against 569,834 PAX in March 2016, indicating a year-on-year increase of 0.1per cent.
Throughout the month, the Airport also registered a slight decline in ACM figures, which decreased by 0.8 per cent for a total monthly ACM of 5,891. Additionally, QAIA handled 8,513 tons of cargo in March 2017 as opposed to 9,299 tons during the same month last year, resulting in a year-on-year fall of 8.5%
