Oman's largest fishing company has represented the country in an international expo, along with signing trade agreements with various organisations.
The company participated in the Brussels Expo in Belgium, and featured one of the largest international exhibitions in the field of seafood. The Oman Fisheries Co. has signed trade agreements with a group of global companies in the seafood industry, officials announced.
The company also showcased a number of important fish species from Oman, including the brand names Taqa, Fun Fish and Sadaf.
In 2016 and the first quarter of 2017, the Omani Fisheries Co. exported about 40,000 tons of fresh and frozen fish. Fish were exported to various European and Asian countries, including Spain, France, Britain, Italy, Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore, Brazil, Thailand and Hong Kong. The total value of these exports was more than OMR20 million.
