The Ministry of Labor (MoL) recently canceled 620 recruitment visas that were issued illegally to a private establishment through the government’s electronic portal.
“During the monitoring of operations, it was discovered that the establishment had acquired the visas without having signed any contracts to implement government projects,” Khaled Aba Al-Khail, general director of media at the ministry, was quoted as saying by local media on Tuesday.
“The establishment submitted incorrect information and the procedures for recruitment were stopped. No work permits will be issued to the workers recruited on the basis of these visas,” he said.
The ministry referred the case to the competent authorities for regulatory measures against the establishment and the people involved in the case, said Al-Khail. “The issuance of visas is under the strict control of the Ministry of Labor.”
Around a month ago, the MoL announced the cancelation of 4,065 work visas acquired illegally by a government agency and the case was referred to the competent bodies for further procedures.
