Tourism Minister Yehia Rashed said the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel represents an unpaid tourism propaganda.
In press statements on Tuesday prior to leaving for Berlin to attend the ITB Berlin - the World's Leading Travel Trade Show, Rashed highlighted the importance of his visit in boosting German tourism in Egypt.
He said German tourists topped the list of Egyptian tourism and the number is expected to double in 2017.
There is continued cooperation with German companies to double German flights to Egypt, he said, adding that there were plans to organize 22 flights per week.
The minister noted that a tourism promotion campaign was organized in several states, especially in Germany, in June 2016, noting that the campaign will be intensified as the vacations season is looming.
