The Egyptian community in New Zealand’s city of Palmerston North launched an unprecedented initiative for promoting tourism in Egypt.
The initiative included organizing a huge cultural festival at their expense for getting the New Zealand people familiar with the Egyptian civilization.
The cultural event included a spectacular show about the Egyptian civilization, a photo gallery from Egypt, a documentary film, Egyptian popular foods, and some famous music.
The festival was organized in cooperation with the Palmerston North’s local authorities.
Egypt’s Ambassador in New Zealand Tarek el Wassimi praised the initiative and the spirit of its organizers, saying migration of Egyptians abroad didn’t prevent them from promoting tourism in their homeland.
