The Egyptian Embassy in Portugal organized a great tourist and cultural festival about the sunken city of Heracleion.
This comes as part of the efforts exerted by the Egyptian embassies abroad to promote for tourism in Egypt.
The celebration was organized in cooperation with the Portuguese Culture Ministry and the National Museum of Ancient Art which hosted the event.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, the Foreign Ministry said that the event was attended by a host of researchers, students as well as ambassadors of Arab, African and European countries.
The Egyptian Ambassador to Lisbon Ali el Ashry gave a speech during the celebration where he invited the Portuguese people to visit Egypt, adding that security measures are beefed up in the airports.
