Passenger traffic via Dubai International Airport dropped 1 percent from a year ago to 5.86 million people in June because of Ramadan, the airport’s operator said.
In the first half of this year passenger traffic rose 5.8 percent to 40.51 million people.
Cargo handled by Dubai International rose 3.9 percent to 226,175 tons in June, and grew 3.8 percent to 1.28 million tons in the first half of 2016.
Only some of Dubai’s air freight traffic passes through Dubai International as another facility, Dubai World Central, handles pure cargo operations.
